Essential Music Theory

Essential Music Theory is a set of music theory books that cover  all aspects of theory in a students musical growth. This series covers rudiments, history, harmony and counterpoint. They are a great way to prepare for examinations and support the practical lesson, giving students a well rounded musical education. 

-Level 9 deals with four part writing and covers basic harmonic principles such as the harmonic vocabulary, harmonic procedures, formal structure and compositional techniques.

-Essential Music Theory Level 10, Harmony and Counterpoint, meets the requirements for a conservatory level 10 exam. Information included in this text includes: fundamentals of harmonization, harmonic sequences, leading tone and other diatonic seventh chords, tonicization and secondary dominants, modulation, dominant 9th and 13th chords, the Bach Chorales, form and analysis, and melody writing.

-Essential Music Theory All in One covers all eight levels of music rudiments in one complete book. Please view the contents page. This book is a complete rudiments text from notation to music analysis and is not divided into eight individual sections. 374 pages. 

-The History Supplement book contains all of the history information required for rudiments Levels 1 to 8. It is an excellent supplement to prepare students for exams, especially when they are working out of other theory texts that may not include the history information.
